My Story as an English Language Instructor:

I am an American from Monroe, Michigan. In September 2016, I moved to Poznań to work as an English teacher and to start something new at Tattered Suitcase.
I am proud to offer English language lessons as a new service for your learning needs.
Currently, I divide my time between being an English instructor at Adam Mickiewicz University and a mentor for my private students.

In the past, I have taught English to all ages and different backgrounds.

It all started when I co-led summer English classes for Japanese exchange students in my Michigan hometown.
In Poland, the desire to teach grew. In Poznań, I worked as an ESL intern for various university student camps and in Jelenia Góra as an au-pair for small children.
When I made the long-term move to Poland in 2016, I taught at an English school for Japanese adults and have since partnered with various English schools around Poznań.

            My philosophy:

            Learning requires personal experiences.

You will have the chance to see, taste, feel, smell, and hear English throughout Poznan. You may have the chance to practice your English at the supermarket, the movie theatre, and even the mall. Real experiences in real places will make you become like a real, native speaker.

Conversation is the best way to learn a language.

Be brave enough to start a conversation that matters.

The student is responsible for what he/she wants to learn.

The teacher is responsible for making this possible.

Learning is different for every person.

Only learn about your interests and what will be useful in your life.

The most important thing is to be curious.

If you have this, then you can do anything.
